My name is Freddy Konings. I was born and am still living in Curacao. That’s a small island just off the coast of Venezuela in the Caribbean Sea.

I started modeling 5 years ago and before that I was very much involved in the sport of bodybuilding. On one day in 1998, some organizers of local pageants approached me and ask me if I was interested in representing my country at the most famous male pageant in the world, the Manhunt International. That year the event would take place in Manila, the Philippines. Taking it as a new experience in my life I decided to go ahead with it and that’s how I got involved in modeling.

Since then I’ve participated in other competition and placed fairly well. This is my most recent list of competitions and placings:

1999 Manhunt International in Manila, Philippines – Won Mr. Popularity title
1999 International Male Model in Aruba – 11th place
2000 Best Model of the World in Istanbul, Turkey – did not place in top 5
2002 Model Quest Universe in Las Vegas, U.S.A. – 3rd place in my age division and 4th place overall
2003 FAME Fitness and Model Expo in Toronto, Canada – 3rd place in the Male Fitness Models division

Also, I have traveled a lot around the world, taking modeling assignments in runway, print and even TV commercials. I’ve been to the Philippines, Turkey, Greece, Venezuela, Aruba and USA and of course in my country Curacao I have done a lot of modeling.

At this moment I’m concentrating a lot on the fitness modeling industry, therefore look to find me in fitness magazines, swimwear magazines and if I really succeed with some luck the big screen.
